How do seemingly ordinary, intelligent people come to believe
—or even remember—what just isn’t true?
Here in the GarryLab, we try to solve this puzzle. We’re an active research laboratory that has discovered many pieces of the jigsaw. For nearly 25 years, dozens of undergraduate directed study students and Honours, Master’s and Ph.D. students have been part of the GarryLab, working with collaborators in Australia, the U.K., U.S., Canada, Denmark, and Germany. We have always been dedicated to rigorous, empirical, programmatic research. We travel a lot to national and international conferences, and host visitors from many countries.
Our discoveries appear in many of the field’s top journals, and attract interest on radio, TV, and social media. Our work also influences allied and applied areas, such as therapy, law, journalism, history, and education.
